January 31st, 2010 The Nikon D70 SLR camera is ideal for digital photography and infrared
The Nikon D70 SLR camera is ideal for digital photography and infrared, mainly due to the power of custom settings. I will take a few moments to see the camera settings used for my photo digital infrared and I hope that they can help you get the best results from your digital SLR Nikon.
Before what – get a tripod is virtually a must for infrared perfect catch and filter x-ray infrared of your choice, I love Hoya R72.
Then, take a little time to schedule your digital photograph infrared. Take the time in advance for this will help to eliminate some of the uncertainties of digital photography to IR, which can result in only an ok, rather than a WOW photos! photos.
As always with this sort of thing, there is not a right way to get results. But these steps are those that I have had success, most of my D70 so far.
Image type
Digital photography and infrared I really prefer shooting in RAW mode. Although native Nikons NEF format is so versatile, it is not only the high quality of the RAW mode and imperfections, you can always change the Photoshop or Paint Shop Pro.
ISO
Increasing the setting you can get good results, but I had the best results when I leave it to 200. Otherwise, the noise is quite simply too big – at least in my opinion. I also an amount only plot in photo shop, then the noise is a problem when working with enlargements detect the highest. Note that, contrary to the film infrared, where the grain is part of the structure and appearance of the image, infrared digital “grain” or noise really affects the image. If you want to add grainy film, do in Photoshop or another image editor.
White balance
From my experience that defines a custom white balance is a key to good digital photograph infrared with Nikon d70. Why use a filter that blocks most “regular” light internal white camera balancing mechanism can provide accurate measurement of the temperature of the color of your environment. Since the foliage reflects infrared light, making it the brightest portion, more white in the picture, you must the D70 to let know that visible green light is white “calibrate” infrared.
There are two ways to do so.
NUMBER 1: the simple white to the D70 method is to open the menu, use the control button to return to the setting of change and the white balance + 3 fluorescent. “” For infrared photography that will probably be included in the sun shines with a “red”, by adding some correction of false colors in the camera filter seems to give images final IR “” punch.”" I have also found too parameter works incandescent.
NUMBER 2: A new way of digital photography and infrared with Nikon D70 white balance is to take a picture of the green grass at noon in the Sun. Only grass – without feet, shafts, nowhere in the sky. Any camera, click the grass looking directly at the, and then click on! Now, in your menu, you must define this photo balance white. Then, go to the menu, select the white balance > preset > use photos > select image > use connection control to access the image of grass (I hope that this is the only your card makes it easier). Now it should say the menu “” this frame > set. “” You are now ready to shoot infrared!
